Я собирался приехать сюда жить. Во время Второй мировой войны отношения между Англией, где я вырос, и Россией были очень хорошими. Мне казалось, что стоит поехать: наука здесь была отличная. Я выучил язык и был готов делать карьеру в России. Но после войны отношения вдруг испортились, и русские были вовсе не рады иностранным студентам. Пришлось ехать в Америку.

The second level at which we detect the operations of mind is the level of direct human experience. It is reasonable to believe in the existence of a third level of mind, a mental component of the universe. If we believe in this mental component and call it God, then we can say that we are small pieces of God's mental apparatus
Наверняка бы он писал фантастические книжки, если бы был заброшен в СССР. А в США пришлось узкой математикой и теорфизикой заниматься.
